Microsoft has announced its latest release to try and combat Google’s dominance in the Internet Search Business. Microsoft are calling it Bing.

Bing will replace the average Live Search and has invested millions of dollars into its creation.

The logic behind the name is that Bing is the sound that is made when you find what you want. I am not sold that this was the best competition beating name that could have been designed.

Maybe Ping, Zip, Tada or some other slang would have been better.

However, the new Bing search engine can only improve the ability of users to search the Internet in comparison to Live Search. It certainly can’t get any worse.

So I guess that the newly launched Bing can only be considered an improvement to Microsoft’s search offerings.
