The latest iteration of the XenApp Application Streaming Profiler has been released. The latest version deals with a couple of issues from the previous version 1.2 release.
From the Streaming Profiler point of view the only real change is adding support for VS 2008.
The Streaming Client has also been renamed to Citrix offline app plug-in. So I don’t know if I think this is a good name. I personally throught the previous name was more than adequate.
This version of the client fixes some issues including:
- supports the use of smart cards
- Fixes to the profile extraction processes
- Stability fixes to the RadeSvc utility
The profiler still looks the same from a GUI point of view.
The added support might fix issues when trying to profile and stream Open Office for instance as we have already discussed here.
With the previous client streaming applications on Windows 7 just would not work. We will have to see if that issue is now also rectified.
Happy virtualization.

I just tested it with XenApp 5.0 (on W2K8 x64) and a Windows 7-Client. Streaming works flawlessly to the client (even not supported).

Thanks for your comment. It is good to know that streaming works well with the combination of Windows 2008 x64 and Windows 7. I haven’t tested the x64 version of 2008 yet due to some software limitation of applications in a x64 environment.
