Google has been quietly working away for a while now on a new web search engine. The new engine will encompass a range of next generation architecture.

The project team still has some work to do before the project will be finished. The current sandbox is using real data to against the new infrastructure and looks to make your search results more relevant and faster.

The differences are subtle at the moment but it looks good so far. We’ll have to wait and see whether more features are added to the search mechanism along a similar line as Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
