XenServer 5.5 released

XenServer 5.0 has not been released for that long, but already a minor update has occurred. XenServer 5.5 is out now.
While largely I think XenServer 5.5.0 is a release to address some general bugs it also adds improved support.
The features added as part of the update are:

Improved Backup and snapshot support
Active Directory Integration
Workload balancing
Improved operating [...]

Migrating from VMware to XenServer

The last week or so I have been converting my Windows test environment from VMWare Server to XenServer 5.0. The process is really quite easy and covered by CTX116603.
I will briefly run through how to convert your Vmware virtual machines for importing into XenServer.

Updating to the free XenServer license

In an earlier post I mentioned that Citix were going to be releasing XenServer for free. The official release of this has now occured. Update 3, which was released from Citrix changes the licensing engine slightly allowing for the new free license to be applied. There is also an updated version for the XenCentre client.
